Texas Bird Photography Workshop

Join us for an exclusive photo workshop on private property to photograph the diverse and beautiful birds of south Texas.

This Texas Bird Photography Workshop includes 4 morning photo blind sessions & 4 evening photo blind sessions with a variety of perches and watering holes against pleasing backgrounds with front light (on sunny days).  Maximum time will be spent in the field with optional sessions during the middle of the day for individual instruction, critiques, and post processing assistance. We will help you as much or as little as you want, all to ensure you go home with the best images possible.

Group size: Minimum of 4 – Maximum 8 photographers with 2 Professional Photographer Guides/Instructors (Cheryl Opperman & Ruth Hoyt)

If the minimum group size is not reached by November 10, 2026, the participants registered will be offered a full refund of the deposit or a “small group surcharge” that will be calculated based on the final group size in order to run the trip.

Itinerary

DAY 1 (May 1, 2027): Arrive in the late afternoon and meet for orientation followed by a welcome dinner.

DAYS 2-4 (May 2-4, 2027): Morning and afternoon photo blind sessions with optional instruction mid-day.

Lodging with Motel Breakfast Included

DAY 5 (May 5, 2027): Morning and afternoon photo blind sessions with optional instruction mid-day.

Lodging with Motel Breakfast & Farewell Dinner Included

DAY 6 (May 6, 2027): Photograph local area park before departing for home.
