Texas Bird Photography Workshop

Join us for an exclusive photo workshop on private property to photograph the diverse and beautiful birds of southwest Texas.

This Texas Bird Photography Workshop includes 4 morning blind sessions & 4 evening blind sessions with a variety of perches and watering holes against pleasing backgrounds with front light (on sunny days).  Maximum time will be spent in the field with optional sessions during the middle of the day for individual instruction, critiques, and post processing assistance. We will help you as much or as little as you want, all to ensure you go home with the best images possible.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Cheryl Opperman will not be leading this trip, but rest assured you will be in good hands with Ruth who will be your guide. Cheryl will lead again with Ruth in 2027.

Group size: Minimum of 6 – Maximum 10 photographers with 2 Professional Photographer Guides/Instructors

If the minimum group size is not reached by February 15, 2027, the participants registered will be offered a full refund of the deposit or a “small group surcharge” that will be calculated based on the final group size in order to run the trip.

Itinerary

DAY 1 (May 15, 2026 or May 1, 2027): Arrive in the late afternoon and meet for orientation followed by a welcome dinner.

DAYS 2-4 (May 16-18, 2026 or May 2-4, 2027): Morning and afternoon blind sessions with optional instruction mid-day.

Lodging with Motel Breakfast Included

DAY 5 (May 19, 2026 or May 5, 2027): Morning and afternoon blind sessions with optional instruction mid-day.

Lodging with Motel Breakfast & Farewell Dinner Included

DAY 6 (May 20, 2026 or May 6, 2027): Photograph local area park before departing for home.
