Windland Smith Rice International Awards
2015 – “Wildlife” Category Winner in the Windland Smith Rice International Awards. Winning image of dall sheep in Denali National Park, Alaska appeared in the 20th Anniversary Awards issue of Nature’s Best Photography Magazine and was displayed at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC. An interview about Cheryl’s image was also selected for Smithsonian Earth, a streaming platform available on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and SmithsonianEarthTV.com.
National Wildlife Photography Awards
2006 – 1st Place “Birds” in the Professional Category of the National Wildlife Photography Awards. Winning image of a bald eagle appeared on the cover of the Winter 2007 issue of Nature’s Best Photography Magazine, inside National Wildlife Magazine, and was displayed at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC.
International Photography Awards
2004 – 1st Place – Travel/Tourism Photography in the Professional Category of the International Photography Awards for a series of photographs of rural landscapes and remote villages of China.
Nature’s Best International Photography Awards
2003 – “People in Nature” Category Winner in the Nature’s Best International Photography Awards presented on October 21, 2003 at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Winning photograph of a cormorant fisherman on the Li River in China was selected for the cover of the 2003 Winners Edition of Nature’s Best Photography Magazine and displayed in the awards exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
“Ultimate Image of Earth” International Contest for Earth Day
2000 – Grand Prize in the Professional Category of the “Ultimate Image of Earth” International Contest for Earth Day 2000. Winning photograph of a bull elk in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming was featured during a 9News television interview in Denver, CO and was exhibited on the Mall in Washington DC.
